Being the parent of two boys you have to be prepared for dirt, constant mess, destruction, a higher level of testosterone in the house, to have extra sets of ear plugs on hand as they do NOTHING quietly, and fighting. Senior seems to always want to touch Junior's head - to cuddle, to 'tap', as a target when throwing objects, to cover with cushions or clothes, whatever. That means that for the Master of the Household and I, there are tears every other day from Junior with some new injury, head knock, bump, shock, "pity me because my older brother is a bully", etc. Of course these are not unique to our house or for kids learning to be more mobile. We are blessed to have two healthy little dudes who are learning about each other and are starting to have moments of playing together which is great to watch.
Life is pretty crazy at the moment, like most people at this time of the year, we have social events on every weekend. A juggle of getting things done, lists written, people seen, food cooked, washing clean and folded, bills paid........through it all we must take some time to always reflect for what we are thankful for.
